sewage treatment plant is a large-scale facility that Scale
processes wastewater through a series of treatment Kms
Aactivities. It receives wastewater from homes, 0 12.5 25 50 75 100
businesses, and industries through underground sewer
lines and transforms it into usable water. A map of sewage
treatment plants displays their locations and associated
infrastructure in a specific area. It also aids in emergency
response efforts and facilitates communication with the
public about the sewage treatment system's location and
function.

In Haryana, the Public Health and Engineering
Department (PHED) has installed 116 sewage treatment
plants, as depicted in Figure 88. These plants have a
collective capacity of 905.4 million liters per day (MLD) as
on 19 February 2025 in Table 69.
