Industry Distribution

ndustrial distribution refers to the movement of industrial goods from their
manufacturing stage through the wholesale distribution process to businesses and
Icompanies that utilize these products. An industrial distributor plays a crucial role in
facilitating the movement of these goods along the supply chain, providing valuable N
services to both suppliers and business customers.

The distribution of industries in Haryana is illustrated in Figure 86 and Table 66. Out of
all the districts, Charkhi Dadri has the fewest manufacturing industries, whilst
Faridabad has the most. The state's major centers for the service sector are Gurugram, S
Faridabad, Karnal, and Hisar. As per percentages, Gurugram holds 14.51% of the services Scale
industry and 11.32% of other industries in Haryana, and Faridabad holds 13.06% of the Kms

This map is highly valuable to various government departments as it aids in establishing
policy frameworks, providing facilitation and advisory services, and implementing
Central Government policies related to manufacturing and commerce, thereby
promoting the development of the state's industrial infrastructure. These findings are
particularly significant for water conservation and management, as there is a lack of site-
specific information on water usage patterns and benchmarks in water-intensive sectors
at the state level. The absence of such information has hindered the state's ability to raise
awareness among industries about adopting proactive techniques and processes for
efficient Ground Water usage and the treatment and reuse of wastewater. Consequently,
this map can serve as a useful tool for conducting a study on benchmarking water usage
patterns in industries such as rice mills/shellers, plywood and allied products, dyeing and
textiles, paper and pulp, distilleries, breweries and beverages, sand/gravel screening
plants, stone crushers, pharmaceuticals, thermal power generation plants, biomass-
based power plants, food processing units, dairy and allied products, sugar mills, and
automotive manufacturing. Figure 86. Industry Distribution
