Annual Replenishable Recharge
N
round water is a replenishable resource which gets recharged W E
every year through rainfall and other sources such as return
Gflow from irrigation, canal seepage, recharge from surface S
water bodies etc. In addition, ground water is also available in deeper
Scale
aquifers below the earth. The Figure 49 which was given below
Kms
illustrates the district wise annual replenishable recharge of 0 12.5 25 50 75 100
groundwater and Table 42 represents the district and aquifer wise
annual replenishable recharge. Rohtak district have the maximum
annual replenishable recharge in the Alluvium, which is about 0.62m.
The district Sonipat recorded second largest replenishable recharge
(0.59m), followed by Karnal (0.57m), Jind (0.52m), Ambala (0.49m),
Fatehabad (0.48m), Jhajjar (0.46m) and Palwal (0.46m). Gurugram
district have the maximum annual replenishable recharge in the
Quartzite, (Quartzite is a hard, metamorphic rock that is made up of
mostly quartz) which is about 0.25m. Minimum replenishable water
was found to be 0.10 in alluvium aquifer at Bhiwani, 0.33 in sandstone
aquifer at Panchkula, 0.09 in quartzite at Mahendragarh district.
