Distribution of other Crops during Rabi Season (2023-2024)

armers in southern Haryana grow a remarkably wide variety of crops during the
Rabi season. The choice of crops is influenced by market demand, input S
Favailability, and current agroclimatic conditions. During the Rabi season, wheat, Scale
barley, gram, mustard, sunflower, and vegetables are frequently cultivated in this area. Kms

Rabi season are shown in Graph 46 and Figure 76. The category of "other crops" depicted
in Figure 76 encompasses Gram, Pulses, Vegetables, and Fodder, among others.
The distribution of other crops, such as Gram, pulses etc., is primarily concentrated in the
southern part of Haryana. Graph 46 highlights that Bhiwani has the highest acreage of
other crops, followed by Hisar and Rewari. In addition to these crops, farmers in southern
Haryana also cultivate a variety of vegetables during the Rabi season, including
cauliflower, cabbage, spinach, and radish. This diversifies their income and provides an
additional source of livelihood. Northern districts such as Kaithal, Karnal, and Ambala
also show significant coverage of other crops, particularly pulses and sunflower as
depicted in Figure 76.
